True Grip & Lighting is owned by seven-time Emmy-Award-Winning cameraman Corky Corcoran. Corky is a Knoxville native who is proud to make his home and his company’s home in East Tennessee.
After graduating from Fulton High School in 1981, with dreams of working as a television cameraman for ABC’s Wide World of Sports, Corky worked as a cameraman at WBIR television. He spent the next 20 years in television with ESPN doing NASCAR coverage.
Having discovered he was skilled at setting up stages, cameras, and lighting during his time as a cameraman, Corky decided to start his own company.
Today, True Grip & Lighting does everything from local events in and around Knoxville to setups for internationally televised events like the Superbowl and ESPN’s College Gameday.
